Panecillo

At the top of a cone-shaped hill in Old Quito stands The Virgen “Alada” of the Panecillo. Visiting hours: daily 10:30 – 17:30. Robbing tourists walking up and down the hill is common, therefore it is recommended to hire a taxi at the bottom of the hill to take you up, wait for you and bring you back down (about US$3).

The old part of the city offers numerous attractions. In addition to the museums listed above, there are several old colonial churches worth visiting, such as: The Cathedral, El Sagrario, La Compania de Jesus and San Francisco.
